Also, while this site isn’t intended to be political in nature, there is news on a similar note, also from TheNews.pl. According to the site,
“Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski suddenly revealed on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin admitted to him that the Katyn massacre was a crime of the Stalinist regime. Poland’s PM Tusk confirmed that he heard Putin saying these words.”
Since the release of the movie, word out of Russia was that it was the Nazis, not the Russians/Stalinists, that had committed the crime:
“Shortly before Tusk’s visit to Russia at the beginning of February the Russian Niezawisimaja Gazieta published an article which claimed that the Soviet NKVD secret police could not possibly have been responsible for the mass murder of over 20,000 Polish officers in 1940.”
It was claimed original Soviet documents concerning Katyn had been forged. One of these pages, pictured below, is an order of execution signed by Joseph Stalin, Vyacheslav Molotov, Kliment Voroshilov, Anastas Mikoyan, Mikhail Kalinin and Lazar Kaganovich.
